Thames Water has awarded a contract for street works inspections contract and audits for quality assurance of its street assets and reinstatements worth an estimated £14 million-plus.
Scope of the contract includes a number of activities, including:
- sample audit and inspections
- processing Highway Authorities and customer notices and charges related to damage to Thames Water (or Customer) plant
- consequential damage surveys
- third party damage and sensitive asset inspections.
The contract also covers the provision of a web based system, to support/complement/interface etc. with existing street works, to manage all tasks being advertised, scoped and requested.
The supplier will also be required to undertake Joint site inspections and to represent Thames Water at meetings with Highway Authorities to agree or rebut defects.
London-based firm P J Keary Ltd has been awarded the contract, which will run for an initial period of 5 years with three further annual extension options.
